Janie Ellen Hyde Miller's Obituary
Jane Ellen Hyde Miller, a lifelong Old East Dallas resident, died December 27, 2025, after several months of hospice care. Janie was born October 22, 1943, at Florence Nightingale Hospital, the daughter of Rufus and Edna Hyde. She attended North Dallas High School, where her father coached football. Janie then graduated from North Texas State University (UNT) and taught elementary school in Garland Independent School District for many years. Janie was blissfully wed to Riley Miller for forty years until his death in 2020. They shared a love of animals and of service to others. Janie also was preceded in death by her parents and her best-ever brother, Bruce Hyde. Visitation and graveside service will be held on Monday January 12, 2026, at 11am Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243.
