Janis Clay Keating's Obituary
Janis Clay Keating age 91 of Fairview, Texas died 8/1/2021 in Dallas, Texas of natural causes. She was born 9/9/1929 to Earl Clay and Daisy Clay in Columbus, Ohio.
She married Ernest Keating on Dec 17, 1955, in Ft Worth, Texas
She was an Executive Administration Assistant in the Gas Business for over 20 years and retired in 1985 shortly after her first grandchild was born.
She loved to cook and recently her family has been enjoying some of her special desserts that she would cook for them over the years. She loved her family more than anything, lived for her daughter and son in law, grandkids, and great grandkids. She always loved seeing her babies and would light up with the mention that they were coming over. She loved playing card games and watching the grands swim or just sitting and chatting with family. She had the prettiest and happiest smile anyone has ever seen.
Mom has a very close daughter-like relationship with her hairdresser Tonya Aikens who did her hair for almost 50 years, she loved her dearly and literally would ask almost daily if Tonya was coming to do her hair today.
She grew up in the Methodist church and converted to Presbyterian when she married Ernest and after his death, she joined Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church. At this church she became very close to Robert and Kathy Bennett who conducted service for Ernest upon his passing and married her grandson and wife Taylor. Up until COVID you would always see Mom and her daughter at church every Saturday night sitting on the front row. Even while in hospice, she would watch church online. Her love for The Lord was undeniable.
Janis was loved by everyone that met her and had a heart of gold. We take comfort that we know she is living her eternal life pain free with the love of her life Ernest and is reunited with her family that preceded her in death.
She was preceded in death by: Husband, Ernest Keating; Sister Jeanne Torrance and Parents, Earl and Daisy Clay.
