Jayson was full of energy each time I spoke with him and we always had good talks with training and what we’re doing with kids for basketball. I am sad to hear that he passed and I will always remember his energy and passion.
This has been incredibly hard to process, and still doesn’t feel real.. I keep thinking about his voice, his laugh, and the way Jayson would look at me like I was something he adored.
He had such a soft, tender heart, and he loved deeply and intensely in a way that was rare. I feel really lucky to have experienced that side of him. The moments we shared were real and meaningful, and I’ll always hold onto them.
I wish I had more time with him.
I hope he’s at peace 🤍

The greatest lesson I learned from Jayson was the importance of acknowledging the truth, no matter how much time has passed. He taught me that it is never too late to reach out, to listen, and to provide someone with the validation they need to find peace. Even back in our school days, I always remembered the kindness in his eyes that he tried to hide behind a joke.
He remembered the potential in his friends from decades ago, and his recent encouragement of my own path and intelligence meant more than I can put into words. He showed me that being a 'protector' isn't just about physical strength—it’s about the strength of character it takes to stand by someone and believe them. My fondest memory is the recent clarity and reconciliation we shared. He chose to listen when it mattered most, and he provided the kind of validation that changes a life forever. I am grateful that our final chapter was one of mutual respect, peace, and truth. He will be deeply missed.
