Jayson Alberto Martinez's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Jayson Martinez
September 14, 1988 – March 21, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jayson Martinez on March 21, 2026, at the age of 37.
Jayson was a bright light in the lives of so many. He had countless gifts, but perhaps his greatest was the way he made people feel. He had a rare ability to make others feel seen, valued, confident, and capable.
Jayson was hardworking, motivated, and deeply goal-oriented. When he set his mind to something, he pursued it fully. He never wanted to settle and was always striving to better himself, improve his circumstances, and reach new goals. He cared deeply about building a meaningful life and leaving behind a lasting, profound legacy.
Jayson was a fierce protector and always wanted to do right by the people he cared about. Family meant everything to him, and he loved them with his whole heart.
One of Jayson’s greatest passions was basketball. To him, it was never just a game. He understood the deeper meaning it carried — discipline, connection, growth, respect, and heart. He believed in teaching respect both on and off the court, and through coaching and mentoring youth in sports, he shared that love with others in a powerful way. For more than a decade, Jayson worked with kids all across the DFW community. He worked alongside top trainers and major coaches in Dallas, and he especially loved working camps for several Division 1 colleges, where he built some of his most meaningful and lasting friendships.
Jayson was also deeply proud of the goals he achieved in his own life. Despite not receiving his high school diploma, he worked tirelessly to earn his GED and made it a significant goal to further his education. He earned his Associate of Science from Cedar Valley College in 2020 and his Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2022. These accomplishments reflected the determination, discipline, and commitment he brought to everything he did.
Jayson had a passion for life and embraced it fully. He loved to travel, and as he grew, he made it a point to enjoy the beauty and experiences life had to offer outside of work. In every new city he visited, he would seek out a museum, hiking trails, and beautiful landscapes to explore. He found peace in nature, reflection in the outdoors, and joy in discovering new places.
Jayson will also be remembered for the way he connected with people. He could find a friend in anybody, and he leaves behind not only a loving family, but also so many dear friends whose lives were made better by knowing him. His warmth, charisma, strength, and genuine heart made a lasting impact on everyone he met. His loss leaves an unimaginable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his mother, Dora Ball; his sister, Dorothy Martinez; and his stepfather, David Ball.
Though his time here was far too short, Jayson’s love, light, and impact will live on in the lives he touched.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
