Dear Larry: Thank you for notifying me of Jeannine's death, which I feel is a blessing since she was suffering so much and for so long. May you find much comfort in the happy memories you shared with her. I met Jeannine in the John Mitchell class at First Presbyterian Church about 50 years ago. While I only visited with her a couple of times after I married and left Dallas in 1967, Jeannine was always a faithful friend and kept me on her Christmas letter list. I admired her beautiful voice and her enthusiasm for you and her family. She was definitely "Mama" to her younger brother and sister. She was wise in many ways and never gave up on anyone, though I admit to giving her cause to dump me! It was a pleasure to show Jeannine and you a bit of Washington, DC, when you visited with us after Jeannine's retirement. I regret that you never made it to Ozona to see us at the ranch. You can, of course, still come if you are ever venturing into West Texas. Jeannine graciously participated in our wedding by manning the guest book. She refused to be a bridesmaid because she couldn't bear to buy another dress and matching shoes for the occasion! If we had been as frugal with our money as Jeannine, I dare say we'd be right up there with Bill Gates by now! Just kidding. I am really pleased that you and Jeannine found one another and she was able to enjoy a happy life with you. It took a very special person to win over Jeannine. May all your good memories sustain you as you are once again alone in the world. We send our love and best wishes, Charlotte and Roy Harrell, PO Drawer B, Ozona, TX 76943
