I knew Jerry longer than any of you. He was my brother and friend. We lived in the best of times. We could roam the neighborhood, climb trees, outjump off the roof, make forts out of Christmas trees. Have china berry fights, until Jerry hit Claudia in the head. Jerry`s favorite story was me chasing him around the house with the fireplace poke. If he hadn`t raised the broom I would have hit him in the head, not brake the brook handle. We all know Jerry liked to talk, so I became the family listener. He remembered so many sports facts, names of people and general information, it amazed me. How many of you know Jerry was an artist? He entered an art contest and won first place and had a write up in the Dallas Morning News. In 1959 Jerry went off to UT and Mother, Daddy and I moved to California. That`s when we started growing up and starting our adult live journey. We kept in touch by phone and were able to see each other occasionally. After Mother died we talked more often. On one of these calls I asked him if he died today would he go to heaven? He said he hoped so. I told him God makes it easy. Just believe in Jesus Christ. John 3:16 says ``For God so loved the world He gave His son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life" He said he would think about it. Sometime later I asked again. This time he said he hoped so. Don`t you want to know for sure? Just ask Jesus to your heart and be your Savor. He said he talked to God when he walked the dog and would talk to God about it. Before I could ask again Jerry started now remembering things. Then he died and I did not have an answer and having doubts if Jerry was in heaven. But God is so good. He gave me peace and assurance in my spirit that Jerry is in heaven and I will see him again. I MISS YOU BIG BROTHER.........LOVE YA
