I met Jerry an impressionable 15 year in 1977. He took me to work with him several times. During the rides to and from work, it was never idle talk. He would talk about life and how important it was to be a good man, to work hard. I still remember those talks to this day. What I learned from him made me a better man. He impacted my life.
Daddy, I can only imagine all that you are seeing now in heaven. Your family and friends who greeted you when you entered the gates, oh, I know there has been a great celebration! I am happy for you. But, that doesn’t mean I haven’t felt the loss of your presence because I miss you terribly. Jerry was a good friend to my husband, Bob Gilmer who is deceased. Bob and Jerry loved going to car shows with Leonard Jarvis where they could stay for hours. Bob said Jerry had a great sense of humor and was a lot of fun to be with. All three guys loved telling their car stories. Now Bob and Jerry will have fun continuing their car stories in Heaven.Jerry came to see Bob when he was sick and wanted to do everything he could to meet his needs. He was so kind and thoughtful.
