Jerry Wayne Calhoun's Obituary
Jerry Wayne Calhoun, 83, died peacefully February 26, 2019 in Dallas, TX. He was born on October 12, 1935 in Pittsburg, OK. He and his wife, Nadine Calhoun, would have celebrated their 60th anniversary in November.Jerry was very mecahnical and could fix anything! He spent most of his career working on printing presses. He would travel all over the world installing printing presses. He disassembled, relocated and reassembled the world’s largest printing press at that time.Loved ones preceded in death are his parents, Miles Alfred (M.A.) and Jewel (Rowland) Calhoun. He is also survived by his wife, Nadine; children, Tamara Dirkse (husband Rick) of Rockwall; Teri Courson (husband Steve) of Mesquite; grandchildren, Mandy McCarver (husband Dustin), Renee Sneed (husband Joe), Maranda Cottington, Mallory Duggan, Garrett Duggan, Becky Jackson, and Stephanie Courson; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Elizabeth, Izabella, Rozaleigh, Ava, Quinn, and Paul. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon Cathey (husband Jim); & nephews Chris and Brian Cathey and numerous other cousins and family members.Macular degeneration would eventually take almost all of his eyesight but you rarely heard him complain about it and he adapted to it amazingly well.Family visitation will be Monday, March 4 at 10 am and a memorial service will follow at 11 am at Casa View Baptist Church, 130 E Interstate 30, Garland, TX 75043.
