Jerry Lee Hill's Obituary
DALLAS- Jerry Lee Hill, of Van Alstyne, TX passed away December 3, 2022, at the age of 66. He was born in Dallas, TX on February 2, 1956, to Tommie and Cauline Hill.
Jerry will be remembered as a caring father with a humorous character and loving spirit. He grew up in Dallas, TX and graduated in 1973 from North Mesquite High School. Jerry earned a bachelor’s degree in religion from Dallas Baptist University with a minor in music in just 3 years. In 1979, Jerry and Rhonda (Dornbusch) were married and had three children. They later divorced but remained close friends throughout his life. He was a longtime employee with Frito Lay and retired after 28 years with the company. During his tenure with Frito Lay, he spent time in the southern and eastern regions of Texas and made many lifelong friends along the way. God put him on a path of mentorship after retirement, as a participant in a prison ministry group, where he provided testimony and hope for prisoners in reform. Faith and his family were the most important things in his life. He traveled frequently and spent time with his 11 grandkids. Mostly known to his family as, PawPaw or Papa Jerry, dad, brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin, but he was so much more to so many.
He is survived by his first wife Rhonda (Dornbusch), daughter Kari (Jason), son Ryan (Andrea), and son Brandon (Lacy). His grandchildren Cristiano Apodaca, Kaycee Lane, Aidan & River Hill, Kenidee & Jack Flentge, Abigail, Julian, Ashton & Mila Hill, and Great-grandson Gunner Kai Apodaca. Sister Judy (Gene) Adams, Brother John (Patricia) Hill and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandson Cameron Antonio Apodaca, alongside his mother, father, and grandparents.
Jerry’s family would like to thank you for your generous and loving support during this time. A Celebration of Jerry’s life will be held in his hometown of Dallas, TX, on Saturday December 17th, 2022, at 2PM.
