Jerry A. Keeton's Obituary
Jerry Allen Keeton was born October 2, 1936 in Jacksonville, Texas to Woodrow Allen Keeton and Velda Irene Keeton. He grew up in Beaumont, Texas and enlisted in the United States Air Force at the age of 16. He proudly served from October 1953 to September 1957. Jerry met Cathy through his brother, William Glenn Keeton, where he worked at Pack-A-Burger in 1957. While Jerry and Cathy were dating, Jerry worked as a firefighter for the Beaumont Fire Department. They got married on October 10, 1958 in Beaumont, Texas where they had their first child, Terry Keeton. Jerry, Cathy and Terry moved to Dallas, but settled in Garland, TX where they had their second child, Bobby Keeton. Jerry spent the majority of his working years employed at Collins Radio/Rockwell/Alcatel and retired in 1991 at the age of 55. His hobbies were watching the Texas Rangers and spending many, many years repairing lawn mowers for friends and family. Jerry and Cathy enjoyed going to garage sales on weekends, traveling and taking pictures of nature. He was an avid hunter and fishermen and enjoyed barbecuing for family and friends. Jerry is survived by his wife, Cathy Keeton; brother, William Glenn Keeton of Garland TX; son, Terry Keeton and wife, Sandra, of Plano; son, Bobby Keeton and wife, Marci, of Mesquite. Jerry had four grandchildren: Matthew Keeton and wife, Megan, Christopher Keeton, Stefanie Keeton and Kyle Keeton. Jerry had one great-grandchild: Kairi. Jerry has many nieces, nephews, cousins as well as friends. He is proceeded in death by his parents: Woodrow and Velda Keeton. The official pallbearers: Terry Keeton, Bobby Keeton, Joel Svidlow, Matthew Keeton, Chris Keeton and Kyle Keeton. After the graveside service, the family will be available for fellowship at approximately 5:30pm: Panchos in Mesquite TX at 4550 Gus Thomasson In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to: Lewy Body Dementia Association at www.lbda.org. Services will be held Saturday, July 16, 2016 at 2:30PM in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
