Jerry Patrick Messimer's Obituary
Messimer, Jerry Patrick “Pat”, 58, of Garland passed away suddenly January 13, 2015 after a brief illness. He successfully owned and operated his own pest control business for over 30 years. Growing up in Oak Cliff and living his entire life in the Garland and Mesquite area, Pat was truly loved by all. There was no one he wouldn’t help. He had a contagious laugh and a heart of gold, loved anything sports and playing cards, and was deeply devoted to his family. Pat is survived by his wife of 41 years, Linda Messimer; daughter, Amy Forman; son in-law, Michael Forman; his best friend and grandson, Caleb Forman, Jeremy Messimer; parents, Jerry and Sharon Messimer; mother in-law, Karen Barton; sister in-laws, Patti Barton and Lee Stover; brother in-laws, Doug Stover and David Barton; nephews and nieces, Justin and Josey Phelps, Ryan Phelps, Cody Phelps, Dan and Carrie Garten, Richard and Erica Barton, Daniel and Jenny Barton, Blake Stover, and Andrew Stover and LeeAnn Stover; numerous great nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his loving sister, Phyllis Phelps; maternal grandmother, Inez Hoffman; paternal grandparents, J.P. and Elva Messimer. The visitation for Pat will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. The funeral service for Pat will be at 2:30 PM on Saturday, January 17, 2015 in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.
