Jerry Frank Randack III's Obituary
Jerry Frank Randack, born on October 9, 1939, in Gallup, New Mexico, to Raetta Ann Henderson and Edwin J. Randack, passed away peacefully at his home in Richardson, Texas, on January 8, 2025, at the age of 85, after a long illness.
Jerry was a dedicated educator, serving as the head of the computer science department at the University of Albuquerque in New Mexico for 10 years. His professional journey also included significant contributions at NCR, Rockwell, and Texas Instruments. For 33 years, he successfully ran the family business alongside his wife Carmela and family members, retiring in 2019.
Jerry's passions included playing chess, fishing, trap shooting, and flying. He had a deep love for his pets and cherished being actively involved in his children's activities. His life was marked by numerous accomplishments: he graduated from the University of New Mexico and pursued graduate studies at Texas Tech University, earned his pilot's license in high school, won a national math contest, and triumphed in the Baby Grand tournament in Reno, Nevada, at the age of 16. As the main troubleshooter for NCR, he resolved countless software issues. Later in life, Jerry fulfilled several bucket list dreams, including visiting Pearl Harbor and touring Alaska.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin J. Randack and Raetta Ann Henderson Randack.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Carmela Mae Randack; his children, Jerry F. Randack IV, Michelle Maryann Houston and her husband Heath Houston, and Thomas Lloyd Randack and his wife Laine Randack; his grandchildren, Kayla Ashley Rose and her husband Matthew Rose, Harrison Jerid Houston, Hayden Lloyd Houston and his wife McKenzie Houston, Kate Elizabeth Feldman and her husband Micah Feldman, Sam Thomas Randack, and Harper Lynn Randack; and his five great-grandchildren.
Jerry was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. His legacy of love, dedication, and achievement will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.
