Coach Sams still owes me a steak she promised me back in 1977-78 for making 15 straight serves in volleyball. I am so thankful and grateful that myself and several other of her favorite athletes from Skyline got together and made a couple of visits to see her this past year. She was well respected by us all and we are going to miss her smart aleck comments. Thank you Coach for being our friend and mentor. We love and miss you and will see you on the other side some day.
I'll miss her often quoted statement, "Shut Up, Tucker!" As a matter of fact, I heard it for the last time as we celebrated her 82nd birthday in September. Hang in there, Ms. Thomas, Ms. Sams is already on the golf course in Heaven. Love, Tucker
