Lynda Kirby
Dear Steven, Mark and the entire Haldeman family- Joan began volunteering at Medical City Dallas on July 5, 1994 when she moved to Dallas from Houston. Her previous work experiences in the retail and health care industries prepared her well for her next assignment as a volunteer Greeter in the lobby of Building A every Wednesday and Friday afternoon. For 20 years Joan thoroughly enjoyed welcoming people as they entered our facility, providing directional assistance, escorting guests to their destinations, delivering flowers and mail to our patients, and visiting with staff. During this time she provided over 9,297 hours of service. Joan consistently had a smile on her face and a kind word to share with everyone she encountered. She was a genuinely sweet and gentle soul who never spoke a negative word about anyone. Joan was a role model and a leader within our volunteer department helping to orient new volunteers to the role of a Medical City volunteer greeter. Joan was an active member of the Medical City Dallas Volunteer Auxiliary and served as president from 1998-1999. In 2011, Joan was recognized for her caring, selfless nature and personal contributions when she received the prestigious Medical City Volunteer Emeritus Award. We send our deepest sympathy and prayers to Joan?s dear friends and family members. God blessed us with Joan?s friendship and she will continue to live on through the good deeds we extend to each other. On behalf of the patients, visitors, employees, volunteers, and physicians at Medical City Dallas Hospital we thank Joan for her years of commitment and dedication. We will miss her tremendously.
