JoAnn was my teammate and my dear friend beginning in 1985 when she and I joined together to support the Automotive Division. Affectionately known as “Mother McKnight” to thousands of automotive technology students, staff, and dealership/service industry representatives, she provided a special kind of support. She was there to encourage, cajole, remind, and provide constructive criticism to our students no matter what their age. She was a consummate professional whose knowledge, sense of humor and team spirit made a genuine impression on everyone with whom she worked. Even after her “retirement” from the automotive area, we called upon her to provide invaluable part-time administrative support during the implementation phases of our Early College High School at Brookhaven College. Her quest for quality in all aspects of her life and her desire to go “above and beyond” were exemplary. My life–as well as my husband, FW’s–is SO much richer for having had the honor of being her friend as well as her colleague. I cherish our times together and hold her memory dear.
