Joann Koons Powdrill's Obituary
Joann Koons Powdrill, of McKinney, Texas, passed away on April 18, 2026, at the age of 83.
She is survived by her loving husband, James Powdrill; her daughter, Melisa Conrad and husband Jim Conrad; and her cherished granddaughter, Cailene Conrad, who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by family and friends, all of whom she loved dearly.
Joann and James were truly two peas in a pod—a perfect match in every sense. Whether they were running a business, working in the yard, or heading out on their next adventure, they did everything side by side. If you saw one, you could be sure the other wasn’t far behind. They built not just a life together, but a partnership filled with laughter, loyalty, and a whole lot of love.
Joann had a special love for Corvettes, and she and James were proud and active members of the Corvette Club of Texas for many years. It wasn’t just about the cars—it was about the people, the friendships, and the fun that came with it. They made lifelong friends through the club and were always ready to jump in and be part of whatever was going on.
Traveling was another shared passion. Joann and James explored destinations all over the world, always ready for the next adventure. Some of their favorite trips revolved around racing—whether it was Xfinity or NASCAR, they were all in. If there was a race involved, they were happy campers.
In their later years, their adventures became a little simpler but no less meaningful. Road trips, time together, and the comfort of familiar places brought them just as much happiness. It didn’t matter where they were going—what mattered was that they were going together.
Joann will be remembered for her love of family, her adventurous spirit, and the special way she and James shared life so fully. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a legacy of love that will continue to be felt by all who knew her.
