Jodie Kay Kline's Obituary
Jodie Kay Kline was born on March 5th, 1966 in Vidor, Texas, to Pat and Joe Zatopek. She was fair-minded, determined, caring, hard-working, hard-headed, brave, and strong. She loved fashion and working alongside others. Her spirit was a light in the dark, drawing others to her. In 2003, she was diagnosed with colon cancer. While fighting this disease, she continued to excel in her work at Kenneth Cole. Then, in 2009, she was able to turn her full focus towards activism for early colorectal cancer screening while continuing her own battle. Her goal was to help spare others the tribulations that she, herself endured. To this end, she partnered with the Colon Cancer Alliance and Mary Crowley Cancer Research Center. She also shared her story in “let’s TALK about it” compiled by Darren Neuberger. She leaves behind her husband Canon, parents Pat and Joe Zatopek, sister and brother-in-law Cheryl and Fred Dunigan, grandmother Viola Meade, as well as everyone she touched.
