I am a long-time customer. Always Admired the light metallic blue BMW 633CSi with navy interior parked outside the Harry Hines store in Dallas.
One day, about 1988, I went in and asked who owned the car. A few minutes later, Joe comes up and we talk about cars/BMW's for about 10 minutes, then he tells me politely that he's not interested in selling the car. I later found a Euro 635CS1 Alpina, but always remembered his kindness to speak to a 27 year old kid. I still shop (a lot!) at the Colleyville, location, and asked Monday if it was still owned by the family. They let me know of Joe's passing, and said that his son (Scott?) runs the business now. On the first day I met you, I learned how dogs must feel — the only word I could understand was “Nobue.”

On my wedding day, the day he became my father-in-law, he showed up wearing cowboy boots?! with his tuxedo.

One of the first pieces of advice he gave his new daughter-in-law from Japan was, “Nobue, you don’t mess with the IRA.”

One of my fondest memories was lying on the carpet, watching TV with his dog, Boo (Bonnie). Suddenly, we both heard Joe's loud voice shout, "No, Boo!" We turned around at the same time, both thinking, "What did I do?!" Then Joe burst out laughing.

Joe, you have no idea how much we will miss you. Thank you for all the love and care you gave us over so many years. I hope you’re reunited with Jeff and Mary Jane. I love you.
