I started working with Joe at Southwest in 1990. We were in admitting together, I was day shift and he was night shift. He was a joy to work with for 35 years, never ever heard him say a negative thing. Sports and barbecue seemed to be his greatest weekend plans and he brought in the best left overs! Thankfully, I saw him last month and gave him a hug. As I was walking away, I heard him say to someone else that it was good to see me, and that warmed my heart. I will miss Joe immensely.

Joe trained me at Southwest Diagnostic imaging in June of 2021. I can still hear is voice when he answered the phone, “My name is Joe, how may I help you?” We shared recipes and I have his infamous chicken tetrazzini recipe. Joe loved old movies and always let me know when “The Bad Seed” was on TCM.
I will miss you my old friend, rest in peace with the angels in heaven!

I feel truly blessed to have maintained a friendship with Joe since 1998, after meeting at Southwest Diagnostic Imaging. He was a rare soul- a man of high integrity and even higher compassion. He will be missed beyond measure.

I was lucky enough to start my days at Southwest Diagnostic Imaging by running into Joe on his daily morning walk, with an apple in hand and smile on his face, he was always quick with a vibrant "Good morning" greeting. I have fond memories of Joe detailing his cars, first his Camaro and then his Challenger, in the upper levels of the parking garage before work, again always with a beaming smile on his face. Joe, you will be forever remembered as a kind and joyful soul. I will miss seeing you every day. We will all miss you. May you rest in peace now my friend.

I had the privilege of working with Joe at Southwest Diagnostic for almost two decades. He was always such a kind man.
In these last couple of years, we were almost always the first ones in the office together. Every morning, without fail, he would greet me with a warm “Good morning” before heading out for his walk around campus and starting his workday.
It’s hard now, in those early quiet mornings hours, when the office door opens and it isn’t Joe walking in with that familiar greeting. His absence is deeply felt, and he is truly missed.
I pray you are resting in peace now, Joe.

My name is Gail Payton a co-worker of Joe. Joe was always so pleasant to talk with and always smiling. My memory is him doing his daily morning walk eating a apple . We both loved seafood . We passed each other often during our lunch time going to the hospital cafe to get gumbo. Joe was one the longest working employee at Southwest Diagnostic Imaging Center. We all had so much respect for him and the way he carried himself. Rest in Peace my friend Joe! GAIL
