I am devastated. I have tried to look up Joe for years on Facebook. I was Joe’s manager at Jack Brown Cleaners in ATX while he was in college. I love him forever and a day. I am so sorry to hear of his illness and passing. I loved every moment he was in my presence. He is a true angel!!
Cory and family, we are deeply saddened to hear of Joe's passing. We were at BH for 5 years and all three of our kids were lucky enough to know Joe very well (Madison, Brady and River Barnes). He was an extraordinary educator who knew his calling in childcare and embraced it enthusiastically. Every morning he would greet us with a smile, lots of energy and some motivating music! I was always amazed at how he knew every parent and child's name. He would always offer a hug or a "spin" to our children at the end of the day, usually resulting in a line of kids wanting the same ?spin?. The entire Bruzina family is so sad to hear about Joe's passing. We met him more than a year ago when our daughter joined Bright Horizons after moving to Dallas from the East Coast. Joe made us feel so good about the center and we had no reservations of leaving our toddler there full time and that she would be in the best care. Certainly, Joe ensured she was well taken care of (as with all the other kids), and he was extremely loving. I am devastated to hear that he's no longer with us – truly unreal. My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones, especially to his husband. We will miss him dearly. Love always, Angelica, John, Isabella and Robert.

So sorry to learn of the passing of Joe. What an incredible guy. BH has been a huge help to my family over the past 5 years or so as my wife stays home with the kiddos & sometimes she can't due to illness, appointments, etc. Just last October she had pancreatitis/gall bladder removed & was in the hospital 6 days. We do not have family that live in the area. We used the rest of the 15 days my company gives me during her recovery. I was truly looking forward to seeing joe's smiling face this morning when I dropped off 2 of my little ones. I have 2 others who are in school now but used to go to BH & Joe would still ask about them … By name of course. Joe's example of selfless servitude we should all aspire for. Cannot believe he is gone. Praying for his family & so many friends. Amazing man. Thankful to have known him for the short time I did. He truly brightened my day every time I saw him. Hope I did the same for him in some small way.

Among all of the many people we will meet in a lifetime, there are only a very few people like Joe Torres. Joe was the most kind, positive, encouraging person I know. I'm glad we had the chance to know him and that he was a part of my daughter's life at Bright Horizons. We were very shocked and sad to hear the news. Our deepest sympathy for Joe's family. He was a special person and we will miss and remember him.
