John Robert Kemp was born on August 21, 1924 in Kansas. He was one of the most giving souls I have ever known. As a War War II veteran, he served our country joining the marines at the age of 16. He was an amazing husband to a wife who lost a hard fight to breast cancer, loved family events and playing with his grandchildren and then his great grandchildren. When he was able to much of this time was spent volunteering to do maintenance at his local church. John was not the type of person who enjoyed just sitting still, he loved fixing things or working on projects he found. Also, he always would go out of his way to help others. He adored animals of all kinds. Behind his home there are several pecan trees which housed squirrels. The squirrels would eat out of his palm. He loved his dogs and enjoyed pet sitting for his neighbors. Building forts for his grandchildren and teaching them to drive in his old white pick up truck with the bumper sticker that read if it weren't for plumbers people would have no place to go. In his younger years he loved to go fishing and camping. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to read the morning funnies. Our family rejoices in all of the wonderful years he lived, and the blessing of how he impacted other people's lives by his kindness and generosity.
