March 25, 2017 To: Nancy McFadden Knox Nancy, My sincere condolences to you and family for the loss of John. We were life-long friends after being roommates at Texas A&M in 1942. At one time, John gave me a golf ball that was stamped ?Pilot Life?, which I still have to this date. I am thankful John generously drove to the Ranch to pay me a visit in 2013. Nancy, Dara and Tommy- Have some really good memories of Penn and Knox kids playing together and don't ever cross the high bridge at LBJ and 35 without thinking about Dara. She was the first driver I ever went on that thing with when it was fairly newly opened. I thought she was so sophisticated and brave, not being a driver myself at the time. I am sorry to read about John's death, but rejoice that you all had so many great family years together. Shot the word out to my brothers, and our thoughts are with you all. Bob Penn
