We’ve been friends of John since the 80’s, we know John is different in more ways than one; he was very compassionate, ready to help and entertain whenever needed, video & gizmo-savvy, and an uncanny numerologist. He had a fine touch in caring for little pets, like the garden turtle in his yard, and the red-eared turtles and cichlids in his aquarium. He helped impoverished strangers by steering them away from predatory pay-day lenders. And he patiently shuttled and waited on elderly senior patients who cannot drive. Yet, he remained upbeat and sometimes funny: showing up in a weekend party as a Trekkie, complete with Nimoy’s pointed Vulcan ears. Or with his scuba gear whenever near a water resort, or with videos and VHS movies. And painstakingly writing (w 5 fingers on the keyboard) then publishing a book - A God Thing- his “final calling”. We always had good times with John, in trekking, in video-shoots, in animated discussions, and in somber moments when recalling dates, numbers, faces and places. He was wonderfully different, endearing him to us, his family, and others he encountered. It’s a different world without John.
My heart goes out to Alyssa and her mom, as the rest of the family. In the last 6 months, I blessed by meeting John, as he was going through the publishing of his book. He is fully healed and has a beautiful God testimony for the rest of us. Sending prayers to the rest of the family.

I have known Mr. Scott in his last few months at the Oncology outpatient getting Blood transfusion.
I am honored to take care of my patients but he is special., warm hearted & pleasant in every ways and even he don’t feel well and very weak, he don’t complaint.
They have the cutest talk of tita Gie (his asawa) when they argue, he will say “HAy Naku” its a Filipino expression that you just keep quiet and surrendering with the argument.
And also I found him special because he was a writer of a book ( The God thing) that I personally known & he signed it for me.

I went to Pilgrimage in Holy land last Nov.5 for 2weeks and the first thing I ask Linda if You have been in the outpatient while I was gone.
Every time I read your book, I feel good because it seems like I am talking to you though I haven’t finish it yet but love it already. Thank you!
I am surely want to see you in Heaven someday.
