I had the privilege of meeting John while working for L3 in Korea. His visits were always a highlight; we’d spend hours talking on the ops floor or sharing coffee and meals offsite. After I left Korea, we stayed in touch, and I followed his health challenges with concern. Later, I was thrilled to bring him into Altamira, where we worked together again. When John moved to Virginia, having him nearby was a gift. I hosted him for dinner several times, most recently to watch the Bills playoff game. Our Friday IHOP meetups before work were filled with great conversations.
John was truly one-of-a-kind—his kindness, sincerity, and humor set him apart. He was deeply proud of his children and grandchildren, working tirelessly to support them, always putting their needs above his own, even when urged to take time for himself. I’m heartbroken that his life ended far too soon, leaving his family without the time they deserved with him. John’s absence leaves a profound void, and he will be deeply missed.
