John Henry Murphy Jr's Obituary
Murphy, Jr., John Henry passed away on March 26, 2015 after a brief illness. John began his life’s journey on November 3, 1940 in Port Arthur, Texas. After graduation from Lincoln High School of Port Arthur. John attended and graduated from Bishop College in Dallas, Texas in 1963 with a Degree in Elementary Education. John began his teaching career at B.F.Darrell Elementary School. After teaching, John was employed with Texas Instruments for 5 years and later with Western Electric in Mesquite, Texas which later changed to Lucent Alactel for 32 years. Preceding him in death was his loving wife, Sarah Pearl Clay Murphy. John leaves to mourn his passing, daughter Iantha Renee’ Murphy-Iglehart(Lloyd Iglehart, Jr.) granddaughter Jasmine Iglehart, granddaughter Jannina Iglehart Johnson(Geoffrey Johnson) great grandson Geoffrey Douglas Johnson, sisters Mary Ann Barnes, Lelia Mae Harris, Naomi Ruth Hamilton, Bernadette Murphy Cooper and Eliza Murphy. A wake will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. Services for John will take place at 10:00 am on Friday, April 3, 2015 at The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
