Thank you for the remembrance Bill. From John Jr.
I was so happy you were there
Thank you for the kind sentiment. I have heard both of your names from my Dad when he would talk about his younger days.
Thanks for all the memories we shared together: be they under the hood of a car, in the computer room exploring the latest technology of the late 90's, or simply relaxing in the pool. I'll always remember those quiet breakfasts we shared together when I was teaching in Plano, the spur-of-the-moment trip to Cleburne to track down the Colonel once and for all, and the fact that we never quite finished writing that sitcom we dubbed "Me, My Father-In-Law and My Two Cats"! Who could forget that magnificently starry night under those deep, dark North Dakota skies? I'll never know if I truly spooked you or not when I mentioned that the Mother Ship would soon be arriving to pick us up, but I clearly recall that you were suddenly quite eager to get back to the Air Force Base after that remark! And maybe I shouldn't have introduced you to Ebay–oh well, my bad…! Nonetheless, good times ALWAYS–thank you for that. You were never without a smile on your face, I'll do my best to carry that on. We'll "Keep Our Eyes Open"–now more than ever. Goodbye, old friend, I'll miss you. You were like a dad to me.
It was so great to see your mom and brother, Sally. Your dad taught me how to play songs on the piano and I have a great memory of playing on his piano when I was a child.
Dad love Laurel and Hardy.
Thank you for the kind comment Joanne. From John Jr.
John and Barbara were 2 of our dearest friends, we all went to Woodrow. John and Byron were good friends in hi school and John used to love to tell about Byron riding his little motor scooter. Our kids grew up together – we went on many camping trips to Beavers Bend, OK and Texhoma. And,how could we ever forget the Weds. night fights we used to get together and watch -well, Byron and John did. John will be missed – he was a dear friend and one of a kind. But he is in a much better place. John, look for Byron, he will be so happy to see you. You guys will have so much to talk about.
As his next-door neighbor on Lakewood Blvd, we graduated together from Woodrow Wilson HS. At one time we were partners in the ownership of his 1927 Model T Ford, purchased from our neighbor, Larry Nabholtz, who taught us a great deal about working with automobile engines. We both went to North Texas State, after high school, and somehow went our separate ways, but still shared many personal experiences together. I can remember John was one of the most honorable, and sincere, friends that I knew as a teenager, and I'm certain that he would have passed those same characteristics on to his family. He will be missed, but I truly believe he is in a much better place. Baxter Ragsdale
