Dorie, JB & Polly(s), I am sad to hear about the passing of 'Uncle' John. Although he wasn't super tall, John was a bigger-than-life character who made my first few years out of college and working at the bank much more enjoyable. John was always kind and encouraging to me. He always looked for the best in people and taught me to get excited about even the small and ordinary events.
Some things that stand out to me: John's 40th birthday party with the 'hamburger man', his crazy love for the State Fair of Texas, and the time he made us join the bank's 'synchronized briefcase brigade' and march in some parade downtown (see picture below) - I was completely embarrassed, but John loved it!
I will miss John and am sad that I didn't keep up with him better in recent years. I'll be praying for the extended Richardson family in the coming days.
