John Kettle Richardson's Obituary
John Kettle Richardson, 75, passed away on August 15, 2022. He was born to George Burkitt Richardson, Jr. and Dorothy “Dolly” Ann Kettle Richardson in Dallas in July of 1947. In addition to his late parents, he was also predeceased by both sets of grandparents, his aunt Polly Kettle Haynes and his uncle John Milton Richardson. John is survived by his daughter, Dorie Richardson Lifsey, and husband Andrew; his son John Burkitt “J.B.” Richardson and partner Amber Booth; grandchildren Grace Dorie Lifsey and Jack Tee Lifsey; his sister Polly Richardson Simpkins and her three children Polly Ellen Simpkins, Philip Dowlen Simpkins, Jr. and Susan Simpkins Reed and husband Clay; his cousin Vicki Haynes Newsom and husband Kent and their son, Douglas, the mother of his children, Martha Fordyce and many other extended relatives and friends. John graduated from Highland Park High School and went to the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). He returned to Dallas after college and went into banking like his maternal grandfather John Kettle. The loves of his life were his two children Dorie and J.B. and later his two grandchildren Grace and Jack. John loved family beach trips to Florida and spring skiing in Colorado when his kids were young. He was an avid sports fan and loved the State Fair of Texas. The Memorial Service is scheduled at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 27 in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland.
