John was a dear friend that I knew for over 40 years. Over a period of 10 years that we both worked for the City of Dallas, we worked in the same departments. After he retired, we stayed in touch. We tried to meet for breakfast usually once a month. My wife would also go with me and we always had a pleasant time. He tried to teach me to play golf, which he loved to do. I will miss him a lot. I had the special privilege of caring for this precious man for 8 short months, and we became great friends. He shared so many stories and tales of adventures that he had enjoyed through his lifetime. He was a very intelligent man who loved life and always had a smile and a prayer for me. He adored his family, his church and friends. We will all miss him every day, but we rejoice knowing that now he can rest and be well. To all his family..
