Johnny was a kind and gentle soul that brought a smile into the American legion post 321 every time he walked in the door . He loved listening to old songs on the jute box and I would often turn the music up and we would sing along to his favorite songs really loud . “Fraulein “ by Bobby Helms is now a very favorite of mine and I play it every shift I work . I will miss Johnny and his big smile looking back at me everyday !! Rest easy and enjoy the music as loud as you want it to play !

I called him Bubba, but Bubba was my favorite uncle. He’s incredibly smart, fed my love for reading and was great with people. We had a special bond since I was a kid and I will miss him very much.

My heart is hurting for you both. I was so saddened to hear of the loss of Johnny, but I know he is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was so very special to me. My fondest memories are of our family reunions. I can close my eyes and remember his warm smile sitting with a cup of coffee. I love you both and extend my condolences to the rest of the family.
