Johnny Marvin Garrison's Obituary
Johnny Marvin Garrison, a beloved father and friend, passed away on November 12th, 2023, embarking on his journey into the galaxy. He will be deeply missed by all who had the joy of knowing him.
Born on November 17th, 1953, Johnny had a deep appreciation for the great outdoors and all that it encompassed. Whether it was hunting, camping, or simply taking in the beauty of nature, Johnny found solace and joy in the world around him. He was also passionate about winemaking, creating delicious creations to share with loved ones.
Johnny's warm and welcoming nature made him a cherished friend to many. He thrived on engaging conversations, good times filled with family and friends, and the soul-stirring sounds of live music. He had a talent for operating heavy equipment, mastering each machine with proficiency and treating them as an extension of himself. He retired after a long and diverse career spanning more than 50 years.
Johnny leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is survived by his sister Claris Westbrook and husband Elton, daughter Kelly Garrison Salinas and husband Oscar, daughter Kitrena Garrison, son Jacob Garrison, son Kaleb Garrison and wife Candace, and daughter Addie Garrison. His grandchildren, Marley, Daschel, Jackson, Parker, Katherine, Charlotte, and Mateo, brought immense joy to his life. Johnny also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his loyal canine companion, Scarlet Begonia.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Claudia Garrison, brothers Royce, George, and David, and sisters Dera and Jackie. Johnny will now be reunited with his grandson, Krosby Dean Garrison, with whom he will continue to share his love for the outdoors and guide him on his journey of boyhood.
A celebration of Johnny's life will take place at the Legion Hut in Meadville, MS, on December 2nd, at 11 am. The address for the gathering is 969 MS-184, Meadville, MS 39653.
