Jon M. Durrah Fewell's Obituary
Ms. Jon M. Durrah Fewell of Cambridge, MA, a Texas resident since April 1967, residing in Garland Texas since 1970, passed away peacefully in death on July 4, 2025.
Ms. Jon a beloved mother, sister, auntie, grandmother and friend lived a full life, marked by devotion—to her family, her community and her circle of dance friends. She leaves to celebrate life 4 daughters: Regina, Laverne, Rhonda, Wendy and 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Her legacy of love, wisdom, and unwavering enjoyment of life, lives on in each of them. She also leaves behind a wide circle of extended family, dear friends and all who were blessed to know her.
Ms. Jon retired from Ford Bacon & Davis of Texas after 20 years, and happily continued working as a Dance Instructor for the City of Dallas at Harry Stone Recreational Center up until she fell sleep in death. Ms. Jon previously worked for BCM Engineering, Restland of Dallas sales office and 7-Eleven Corporation.
Ms. Jon was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Garland, Texas.
Her life involved teaching tap for Bittenbinder Dance Academy, serving on Board of Directors for Mesquite Civic Ballet, TATD Advisory board, Family Gateway, For Goodness Sake, and a few of her favorite things - attending the annual Dallas Margarita Ball and volunteering for the Dallas Zoo.
Our mother’s life was a testament to kindness, humility, and strength. Whether offering a helping hand, a word of encouragement, or volunteering she touched countless lives with her steady presence.
As we celebrate her life, we find comfort in remembering the impact she made and the love she shared so generously.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American heart and lung associations, Leukemia and Cancer Society and Dallas Black Dance Theater.
Our Mother's legacy lives on in the hearts of ALL that knew her.
