I visited with Joe almost every time when I was visiting my Dad, Clint Baskin, at Emeritus Memory Care in McKinney. He was always such a nice man. My Dad really liked him. In fact, Joe was the one who talked my Dad into going to see all the pumpkins at Susie's Dad's farm…..it was a fun trip (that I had to miss). My thoughts are with the family at this sad time. I met Joe and Margie in 1997 when my Husband and I and our daughter Kaylee moved into Greg's Grandparent's home on Marigold Trail. The Griffins and Browder's had been neighbors for about forty years. Joe would often walk down and offer to help me with yard work, he would always compliment my hard work and we'd both stand back and admire my roses. Once while raking leaves I looked down and realized while raking and bagging leaves I had lost my new ring Greg had just given me for our Anniversary. I was frantically panicking and crying. Joe saw me out and came down to offer a hand…he noticed I had been crying I explained what had happened and he immediately started combing through the leaves looking for my ring. Three hours later we both called it quits and later that evening there it was in my hall. Somehow it had slipped off my finger while I was in the house. He was so precious and thoughtful…I just loved him. Our Daughter Mattie was born in 1999 and she took a liking to both Joe and Margie and would often visit bringing Margie flowers from our garden in exchange for cookies. Margie always had cookies for her and would send some home for sister too. We sold and moved in 2005 and it was one of the hardest things we've ever done…part was the memories and the other was saying goodbye to our precious neighbors. I knew we'd so miss them all but Joe and Margie were special…our favorites. The Griffins send our love to Joe's family…he was truly a special one of a kind man. I find comfort knowing Joe is in Heaven with our Lord enjoying his sweetheart once again. Love to all, Angie Griffin and Family.
