Joseph Mobley's Obituary
Joe Mobley of Rockwall, Texas was called home on May 22, 2019. He was born on October 7, 1953 in Dallas, Texas. Joe married Mary Ann Adams on November 6, 1971 in Mesquite, Texas. He and Mary have two children, Jeffery Clayton and Misty Dawn. Joe was a loving husband of 47 years to his soulmate, Mary. He adored his 4 grandkids: Clay, Tucker, Macy, and Tate.Joe loved the Lord and served Him faithfully. Joe’s walk with Christ and his strength and trust in our Savior will always be remembered. He was a member of Tree of Life Lutheran Church in Garland, Texas for 28 years where he served as an Elder and the Praise Team Leader. He had a passion for music, which included playing the guitar, singing, and learning to play other instruments, such as the violin, mandolin, and banjo. He also enjoyed tinkering with computers, of which he had several. His greatest passion was his family. He could always be relied upon to be there for others in times of need. Joe worked at TXI for over 40 years as a project engineer.Survived by immediate family: wife, Mary Ann Mobley; son, Jeffery Clayton Mobley and daughter-in-law Kimberly Christie Mobley; daughter, Misty Dawn Pierce and son-in-law Richard Thomas Pierce; Grandchildren, Clayton Garrett Mobley, Tucker William Pierce, Macy Harper Pierce, and Tate Joseph Pierce; Brother-in-law, Neal Adams.Preceeded in death by his parents, Opal Mae Butram and James Butram; aunts, Kate Harrington, Claranna Goodner; uncle, George Schetlin.Family, friends, and others whose lives Joe touched are invited to a gathering from 5:00-6:00 on May 28, 2019 . The service will be held at 6:00, followed by a meal at 7:00. Tree of Life Lutheran Church 6318 Lyons Rd. Garland, Texas 75043.
