Heaven received an angel on August 3, 2023. Joyce Faye Evans joined her husband Cleo Evans and will be laid to rest beside him. Joyce was preceded in death by her sisters Wilma Blair, May Almon, and Laverne Reeves and her brothers Read Obituary
My husband, Ted, and I were blessed to live next door to Ms. Joyce for 10 years. She always had a smile for us and her gentle spirit was palpable. In her last years she would often refer to me as “Ted’s lady friend” which we all thought was hysterical. She was just so precious. We already miss her, but look forward to seeing her again. It makes a huge difference when we have trusted Christ as our Lord and Savior. It gives us the assurance that we are only saying “see you later” rather than “goodbye”.
Dainty Joyce is the one who let me go to church with her,which is where I heard and believed in Christ Jesus. Though I spent some years on the wild side when came time to make an eternal decision I chose Jesus. It is because of Dainty that the foundation was laid and I will forever thank God for her!! I will rejoice seeing you again in heaven!!
Rest joyfully in heaven my beautiful mom. It's hardly bearable to realize your time on earth is done, but I know you're happy to be in heaven with all your loved ones who went before you. Thank you for all you've done and for sweet unforgettable childhood memories. Even as many serious hats as you wore, you still found time to give plenty of TLC. I'm blessed to have memories of you pinning your best broach on my school dress in the morning before school, all the way up to you loving and playing silly games with your grandkids, great grandkids, and great great grandkids. Your strong faith in Christ was and is the best example you could have left for your family and those around you. I will always love you with everything I have in me.
