Joyce Kincy's Obituary
The Lord has another beautiful angel. Joyce Kincy of Gun Barrel City, Texas lost her battle with cancer and was taken to her Heavenly home on June 16, 2015. Joyce was born on March 31, 1936, raised in Greenville, South Carolina and married Richard Kincy in 1952. She is survived by Richard, her children Rick Kincy, Annette and Michael Wood, and Tamara and Michael Key, grandchildren Josh, Jake, Jillian, Natalie, Heather and Dustin, and four great grandchildren Zachary, Gracie, Grayson and Hudson. Joyce was very active in the PTA when her children were in school. After the children were grown, she and Richard moved to Tehran, Iran where they both worked for American Bell and traveled around the world. They returned to Gun Barrel City in 1980. Joyce was blessed with an eye for color and design, and was asked occasionally to deliver presentations at the Garden Club. Joyce was very active in the Gun Barrel City Civic League and was the President of the Cedar Creek Lake Women’s Club. She resided in Gun Barrel City until her death and loved planting flowers making a beautiful yard for everyone to enjoy. She loved feeding the ducks that came to her yard from miles around to take food from her hands, and watching all her hummingbirds flit around. Joyce remained active in church and civic league events until cancer prevented her from attending. She was famous at the Church Bazaar for her homemade peanut brittle and pear preserves. Joyce loved and was loved by everyone. She will be missed greatly by family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 20th at the Cedar Creek Lake United Methodist Church located at 100 Old Indian Trail, Tool Texas, 75143. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Cedar Creek United Methodist Church.
