This was written about my father-in-law, Judge Cole. HE WAS FAMOUSLY TOUGH on bad people. But he took me to Sanger Harris personally to buy my over $400 Ralph Lauren “Allison” bedspread because it was my favorite thing on our bridal registry. Loved him so. He kept me from getting married on June 19th saying, “I would be the only white bride in the Dallas Morning News”. So I married Robert R. Cole, Jr on July 17, 1993 instead. Bob was bummed because he thought it would be funny, not me. He was TOUGH and loved the police. Maybe he transferred that to me too. But he was also a gentleman who called his daughter till the end of his life in 2009, “Sweet Pea”
Another thing Judge Cole who was a former JAG officer for the Navy, he said, “A man that brags, has nothing to brag about…”
I think that was meant to be advice to his namesake I married
He still does not get it but I will love him and the entire Cole family forever
When you nearly loose your life in a terrible crash no one should walk away from, you kind of want to share your important memories and feelings
Bob and I managed to be BFFs after our annulment. Bob is such a great lawyer, but he had no off switch. That was hard for me at 22 years old.
He’s a favorite person I will never stop loving and respecting. He even hired me later as his paralegal. He taught me a lot. Bob is EXTREMELY intelligent and his father was hard on him which made Bob work harder
Signed “Char Cole”
