Kathy you will be missed
Michael Hyde, Kimball class of 1963
Kathy was an adored older cousin and she made every family event a joyful encounter! She always had a beautiful smile and some new saying that, at the time, seemed hilarious. " Well Great Honk" comes to mind. Like a border collie among sheep, she made quick work of herding us in and regaling us with her stories and jokes. I remember lots of laughter, swinging in our Grandmother Bone's porch swing and singing hymns, and often walking to the post office to get Grandmother's mail. This was the old time metal post office box with a combo lock and we would argue over who got to turn the lock. Kathy or my brother always won but that was ok because it was fun. We would also hear the signal bells heralding an approaching train and run the few blocks downtown in Ferris to watch the trains. These were simple pleasures decades ago yet they remain memorable due in large part to Kathy and her entertaining wit and personality. Rest in peace, Kathy! We shall all miss you!
