Carrie and Robert, I am so sorry about Aunt Genoice.
I have the best memories of us growing up together and staying at your house during the summertime.
Not only were our fathers' brothers, but they were also best friends. (Donald Wright for me and my two sisters-Donna and Becky. Lewis Wright for Carrie and Robert)
Every time we came to Texas we camped out at your house. Our family would be so excited to see you and Robert. We would be bouncing up and down in the seats! (Pre-Seat Belt Laws!!!!)
I can remember going to church with you and always getting to go to Six Flags! We even turned on the sprinkler in the front yard when it was hot and jumped back and forth trying to get wet. We had the best time, and we would visit other family members together that lived close to you.
Most of all we laughed and laughed at all of Uncle Lewis's funny stories. There was so much laughter in our house and in your house because our fathers loved to laugh and tell funny stories. Who needed TV?
I love the one of Daddy and Uncle Lewis trying to make homemade ice cream in the kitchen with Aunt Genoice trying to tell them how to make it. She told them to either "beat the eggs or whip the eggs" and Daddy looked at Uncle Lewis and said, "How do you beat eggs?" They would laugh and laugh.
Also, my daughter Rachel, loved to call Aunt Genoice on the phone during her Mary Kay Days (I did too!) and talk Mary Kay with Aunt Genoice. She was so much fun to talk to.
One thing I do know and that is my parents loved each other, and Uncle Lewis and Aunt Genoice loved each other. As an adult and being in the work force for decades, we are a rare breed that can say that.
Just think, the four of them are all in Heaven together now, not racked with pain and suffering in these human bodies we live in, but they have new bodies, and they are worshipping the God of the Universe together and one day we will join them and enjoy worshipping that same God they all taught us about. Can you imagine being wrapped in the arms of Donald and Lewis Wright again? or in the arms of Kathy and Genoice again? And I know that my Clifford is there with them too. What a homecoming we all will have.
I love you Robert and I love you Carrie and wish I could be there at the service of Aunt Genoice with you.
Love forever and ever, Phyllis
