Kathryn Genoice Lanier Wright went home to Heaven on Sunday, July 24, 2022.
Genoice was born October 26, 1940 to James Clifton Lanier, Sr., and Sarah F. Turner Lanier in Mineola, Texas. They moved to Dallas in 1944 where she grew up. Genoice married the love of her life, Lewis Wright, on August 9, 1957. Genoice and Lewis were married 62 years and had 2 children. Genoice worked in the accounting department of several companies. She was also a part time Avon Lady and later a Mary Kay Lady. Genoice had a big beautiful smile and she loved to sing. She was gifted with a beautiful alto voice. She sang in church choirs, performed duets and solos, as well as singing with family or just for fun. It was a joy to sit near her in church and hear that awesome harmonizing alto voice. However, nothing brought her more joy than caring for others, especially family and friends. Genoice will be remembered fondly for her smile, her voice, and the way she loved. Genoice was preceeded in death by her beloved husband, Lewis in 2020, her parents, sister Corenne Lanier Hill, and brother James C. Lanier, Jr. Left to cherish her memory are her 2 children: Carrie Wright and Robert (Weiwei) Wright; 2 grandchildren: Jeff (Dawn) Jackson and Rachel Wright; 4 great grandchildren: Travis Jackson, Aaron Jackson, Azaria Thompson, and Addisyn Belkin; nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
