Our condolences. My dad was a friend of his back in the day. Going through some of his old photos i discovered this photo:
When it came to Ken, my mom (Judy's Aunt Thelma) always said Judy won the spouse lottery. That said it all for us.
Ken was kind, generous and a great conversationalist. He was so well informed in so many topics. He never met a person he couldn't engage in a lively conversation.
He was so very kind to my Aunt Re (Judy's mom) and was a willing and loving caretaker for her for years.
But mostly I remember how much he loved my cousin Judy. Their love for each other just radiated from them. Even if he weren't the great guy he was we would have loved him for how he loved Judy. It was pure joy to spend time with them.
We were blessed to know Ken and we will miss him dearly. Our lives are less for his loss.
Ken was one of the finest men I ever met. He knew well how to persevere and prosper through all kinds of difficult times and hardships. Most would’ve given up but not Ken. He always continued to look ahead and move forward with happiness and optimism. I’ve always admired Ken for his love of life! He was passionate about his family and love for the outdoors which he passed down to his sons and grandchildren. He also loved to play games with his family. He was really good at card games. In fact he was known to win a lot. He could remember every card played with his brilliant mind. He was the ultimate gracious winner. It was great fun! There will never be another man like him. He was kind while being strong, compassionate while being honorable, and principled without being judgemental. He was easy to admire and love. I was so blessed and fortunate to have been able to spend treasured times with him.
Ken was one of the greatest men I have ever met. He came into my life when I was just a girl. At 15 he was already teaching me life lessons. He was a tower of strength and stability for me that I never knew I was missing. He is one of those men you could talk to about anything. He never judged and he helped set you straight if you weren't thinking clearly. He made me laugh. He made me cry but not for sad reasons until now. I have always been proud to call him my father too. I cannot tell you how many wonderful camping, hunting and fishing memories we have with him. Some ending up in the ER. This is a family tradition. LOL There was always a place for you. Even if that meant sleeping on the floor so everyone could stay together. His beer biscuits and sausage gravy was unlike any you have ever had.
He loved his sons. He was always proud of them and they brought him such joy. I know he loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren with all of his heart. He taught them so many things. Countless memories for my two, Taylor and Kelsey, spending a week or more in the summer with them and coming home sharing the many new things they learned. He was patient and kind. He holds a special place in their hearts and always will.
He was married to Sweet Judy (as he called her) for 53 years. He has missed her every day since she left us in 2023. Judy was his soul mate. They are together now and he is finally at rest.
For those of you who knew him, you know what a wonderful man he was. For those of you who didn't I wish you could have.
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers,
Gaye Lynn
