Kody Dale Hughes' Obituary
Kody went to be with his heavenly father July 30, 2010, following a tragic automobile accident near Guthrie, Texas. Kody was born May 5, 1989, a true gift from God, to Kevin and Stacy Hughes. He was preceded in death by his sister Kallie. He is survived by his parents, his grandparents, Bob and Susan Ritter of Plano, TX, grandfather Howard Hughes of Elkhart, TX, grandmother Sue Hughes of Palestine, TX, great grandmother Juanita Dunn of Richardson, TX, and many very special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that meant the world to him. Kody was a member of First United Methodist Church in Richardson, Texas, and a junior at Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Kody varied his studies among Landscape Architecture, Business, and Criminology. He was seeking his true calling in life, like many young people, but had recently been leaning towards law enforcement. Kody loved playing golf, fishing, creative wood working, and working outdoors. Kody had a servant heart, was especially creative and artistic, and enjoyed fellowship with his many friends. He loved being of service through his church youth ministry, participating in many service projects in his local community, as well as in Mexico, Texas, and Appalachia. A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday August 5th, 2010, 5:00 PM at First United Methodist Church, 503 N. Central Expressway in Richardson, TX. A reception for all will follow the service at the church. Memorial contributions in Kody’s honor may be made to FUMC – Richardson, C2K Ministry, 503 N. Central Expressway, Richardson, TX, 75080. Kody was a friend to all, dearly loved, and will be greatly missed
