Awe, so many fond memories of my lovely Aunt Lee. It was so much fun to see Sunny (My mom) and Aunt Lee get together. They would laugh and laugh like little school girls. I remember many a road trip with my sweet Aunt. Sometimes those road trips were long, and we were kids! I know oft times we would get on Aunt Lee's nerve as we became restless in the back seat. We knew we were in big trouble when she would whip her head around and give us that look with the raising of her eyebrow! Those of you that know Aunt Lee know of the look I am talking about...lol. I remember wanting to be able to raise my eye brow like Aunt Lee did. I would actually sit in front of the mirror and practice...but to no avail. Aunt Lee was there for all the big events in our lives. I loved to hear all her stories about Mom, and my grandma (who I never got to meet)
In her latter years, she loved going to her home in Mexico. It brought her so much happiness, I loved seeing her enjoy those moments. She would look out over the ocean and enjoy the beautiful water. She also liked showing off her place and having the kids/grandkids come down to visit. One time we were sitting on the porch and she said, "Oh my, that guy is burying that girl in the sand, that is awful, someone needs to stop him". It was actually my son in law burying my daughter in the sand...for fun of course!
I miss her so much, but I am glad that she is reunited with her grand parent/parents, Paula Ann, and Joe (she told me often that he was the love of her life!) I know she is up there giggling with my mom again too! It makes me smile to think of that. I am saddened too because she was always there for us...to lend a shoulder to cry on, give advice, a listening ear and teach us to be strong, even when it seemed impossible at times. I love you so Aunt Lee, I will always hold you close to my heart.
