Laura Leona Wooten Miller Day's Obituary
Laura Leona Wooten Miller Day of Garland, Texas passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, August 6th, 2020 at the age of 92. She was born to Claude and Ruby Wooten, October 19th, 1927.
As an only child, Leona was beloved by her parents and grandparents. She attended and graduated from Ursuline Academy of Dallas, Class of 1946. She was an avid reader and enjoyed travelling with family. She worked in the family business in her earlier years and later on, was the chief executive officer and president of Laura Leona, Inc. Additionally, she was the owner of ‘Bout Time Ranch which she built from the ground up on the family homestead. She dedicated her land in the memory of “Big Daddy”, her grandfather Nathaniel Means. Leona was a spirited, independent woman with a big heart and loved her family fiercely!
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, her beautiful daughter Paula Ann Miller, and her soul-mate, Joe Miller. She is survived by members of the Caskey, Magee, and Wemp families.
Services are Saturday, August 15th, 2020 with visitation beginning at 9:00 am in groups of no more than ten in the room. The funeral will follow immediately thereafter and seating is limited and is by invitation due to the restrictions of COVID-19.
