Asheley Danforth
Oh where to begin…"Pawpaw" as us grandkids would call him, was the most amazing man ever. Kind hearted, loving, mountain of a man yet so gentle, outgoing, smart, and most of all my grandfather. I remember him sitting his garage and building things with his hands, you name it he built it. I loved to watch him and of course help him. I too remember Thanksgiving dinners. Him in the kitchen cooking was great. I also remember everyone in the family getting together to enjoy the dinner that he made for his family with love. After lunch we would watch the Cowboy game and some of us would gather in the kitchen and play scrabble. Then there were the ones that would just crash on the couch because they were full. I remember him taking me to the credit union with him, with the windows down and he would get really close to the curb and splash through the water that was left over from a rain, with my hand out the window of course. More importantly he was my father figure in my life for ten years. He is who I would go to, of course my mom and I lived with him and my grandmother for that time. I could go to him about anything. He was there for me when I needed him and I don't know where I would be today if it weren't for him. I wish that you didn't have to suffer for the year that you did, but I know that you had been ready for awhile to go home. Do me a favor though…Please look after my son, Braden. I miss you both so much and will see you again someday. I love you.
