Lester G. McKee's Obituary
He was kind. He was gentle. He had a unique way of making people feel special, he truly had a gift. Born August 12, 1934 in Dallas, Texas. He died at Brookdale Senior Living on Memorial Day May 29th, 2017 with his family by his side. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Nancy. He is survived by his two daughters and their husbands, Leslie and Roger Hodge and Libby and Bobby Stephens; four grandchildren, Carlie Lee, Robert Stephens; Natalie Bridges and Amanda Hodge; one brother, Jim McKee and one sister, Belinda Carter and seven great-grandchildren. Lester was a graduate of the University of North Texas and served in the United States Army. He retired from the Dallas Teacher’s Credit Union after 35 years. A member of Lakeside Baptist Church for 53 years, he faithfully served as deacon, Sunday school teacher, and department director. He will always be remembered for his hugs and smiles. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8:00 pm, Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Restland Funeral Home in Staterooms N-O. Graveside service will be held Friday, June 2, 2017 at 9:30 am at Restland Memorial Park in Section F. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 am at Lake Pointe Church – White Rock (formerly known as Lakeside Baptist Church) located at 9150 Garland Road, Dallas, TX 75281. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the American Heart Association at donatenow.heart.org. Arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home located at 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
