Lewis Harlan Johnson, Jr. was born March 22, 1939 in Mooreville, Texas and passed away May 1, 2017 in Dallas, Texas. Lewis spent his childhood in Chilton Texas where he excelled in sports earning a scholarship to Southwestern University in Georgetown Texas. He graduated from Southwestern University and attended SMU Law school. After completing his education and marrying Betty Virginia Ewing, he served as president of the National Bank of Commerce in Dallas Texas where he settled and raised his family with Betty. He was a successful entrepreneur and businessman throughout his life. In the last chapter of his life he fell in love and married Diane Thornton. They lived a happy life together surrounded by their children. Lewis will be remembered as an extremely loving and generous man who held his family above all else. He is preceded in death by his father, Lewis Harlan Johnson Sr.; mother, Nelrose Gresham; brother in-law, Milton Kurtz, and step-daughter, Vickie Bell. His survivors include his wife, Diane Thornton; daughter Ginna Johnson; son, Trey Johnson and wife, Jen; step-daughter, Karen Bruton and husband, Gene; step-daughter, Kay Weinmann and husband, Greg; sister, Martha Kurtz, sister, Mary Redding and husband, Leland; brother, Charles Johnson and wife, Olivia; grandchildren, Karamie and Devyn Bertram, Dylan and Will Johnson, Bret Weinmann and wife, Rachel, Taylor Weinmann; great-grandchildren, Pierce and Cora Weinmann. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
