Elizabeth & Elaine: We saw the obituary of your mother this morning, too late to attend the graveside service, but wanted the Hassell,girls to know of our sympathy at this difficult time. Your parents and my (John's) parents (Garlan & Gladys Harris) were close friends through PCBC, and we had met them several times before we moved back to Dallas in late 1983 from our former residence (Portland, OR). Matter of fact, when we decided upon the Lake Highlands area as where we would settle in Dallas, your folks were very helpful in giving us some tips about what was where, etc. Matter of fact, I think your dad acted on our behalf with what was then the Peoples Bank, just around the corner from their home on Kingsbury, to secure a large safe deposit box & have it waiting for us when we arrived! I don't think there was any occasion when we actually met either of you, but we heard lots about both of you. Please accept our sympathies on their passing, and although we don't have any details of your mother's last days, we hope they were peaceful.
