Lisa Aubrey Lozelle's Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Lisa Aubrey Lozelle on December 25, 2024. Lisa, a devoted daughter, mother, sister, and friend, was called home to be with the Lord on Christmas morning. She was born on April 15, 1970, in Madison, Wisconsin, to Robert and Caren (Dahlgren) Aubrey.
Lisa graduated from Lake Forest Highschool, in Lake Forest Illinois, in 1988. She earned her BA in advertising and communications from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas in 1993.
Lisa’s life was a testament to her deep faith, unwavering love, and commitment to her family. She raised her four children—Claire, Charlie, Grant, and Grace—in the Park Cities, where she made her home for 33 years. Lisa began her career in sales with K-LUV CBS Radio, and later earned her real estate license, working as an agent with Bill Griffin Realtors. She also served as a substitute teacher in the HPISD school district. Lisa’s dedication to her family and her career was matched only by her steadfast devotion to her faith. As a devoted member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church, she served in numerous roles, including volunteering, teaching Sunday School, participating in Bible studies like Promise Keepers, and constantly encouraging others in their spiritual journeys. Above all, Lisa’s life was grounded in a strong, personal relationship with God, and she faced every challenge with His love, wisdom, and peace as her guide.
Lisa’s heart was always open to others, and she poured herself into everything she did. She loved being a mother and found immense joy in her children and their journeys. Whether it was playing with her puppy Lola or spending time with her Delta Gamma sisters, Lisa’s spirit radiated warmth and kindness. She had a special gift for bringing people together, making everyone feel seen and valued. Her deep faith in God carried her through every season of life, and she shared that faith and love with all who knew her.
In the months leading up to her passing, Lisa returned to substitute teaching with plans to pursue a teaching certificate, a career path she was passionate about. She had always been committed to helping others, and her desire to teach was just one of the many ways she gave of herself.
Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Robert Miles Aubrey, and her grandparents, Donald and Gertrude Aubrey, and Clifford and Dorothy Dahlgren. Her Aunt and Uncle, Robert and Connie St. John.
She is survived by her children—Claire Lozelle, Charlie Lozelle, Grant Lozelle, and Grace Lozelle; her loving mother, Caren Aubrey; her sister, Jennifer (Quino) Martinez (Aubrey Kate, Mallory); her brothers, Bob Aubrey (Audrey, Ayla) and Brady Aubrey; and her aunts and uncles, Richard and Tammy Squillante (Sammy, Kayleigh, Andrew, Meagan, and Anthony), Tom and Janet Burke (Kelly and Kim), and Tricia Atwater (Christopher and Anna). Cousins Susan (Raymond) McMullen, Shelley (Jay) Spivey and Stacey (Mike) Pendersen.
Lisa is also survived by many more cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom were deeply touched by her love, generosity, and unwavering faith.
Celebration of Life
We invite all who knew and loved Lisa to join us for a Celebration of Life on her birthday, April 15, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Highland Park Presbyterian Church, Wynne Chapel, 3821 University Boulevard, Dallas, Texas 75205. This service will be a time to come together in remembrance of Lisa’s beautiful life, the love she shared, and the incredible impact she had on all of us. We will honor her life, her faith, and the light she brought to the world.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Highland Park Presbyterian Church in Lisa’s name.
As we reflect on Lisa’s life, we take comfort in the words of the Lord:
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” — John 14:27
And in the assurance of eternal life:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” — John 3:16
Lisa’s legacy of love, faith, and devotion will live on in our hearts. Though we will miss her deeply, we find peace in knowing that she is now with the Lord she loved, resting in His eternal embrace. Lisa’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of those she touched, and her example of faith and love will guide us as we carry her memory forward.
