Lois M. Colden's Obituary
Colden, Lois M.Passed away on July 25, 2019 and went to join her family members in heaven. Born in Clintonville, Wisconsin on February 14, 1926, she’d been a Dallas resident since 1958. She was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church since 1958 and served in many capacities during the years. She was a long time member of the Current & Classic Book Club, an avid Cowboy fan, loved music, theater, dancing and cooking and drove Meals on Wheels for many years.She is survived by three sons, Donald, Michael, and Gregory Mark; and three daughters, Cheryl Lightfoot, Deb Daniel and Lisa Booth (Mark) and son-in-law, Ed Szyper. She leaves behind eight grandchildren: Heather Leeper (Mike), Casey Lasky (Michael), Kyle Daniel, Lindsay Jobe (Cliff), Lauren Lightfoot, Mallory Windsor, Christin Marotto (Bryan) and Austin Colden. Also eight precious great-grandchildren: Evan Leeper, Colden, Turner, Ruby, Hawkins and Shafer Jobe, and Dixon and Hayes Lasky. She is also survived by two brothers, Bill and Tom Buchholz and a sister Betty Mielke, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, who passed in 2003, her daughter Sue Szyper, her grandson Seftin Colden, her parents and her brother Jim and sister Shirley.Her funeral will be held on August 3, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Christ Lutheran Church, 3001 Lovers Lane with Pastor Lanny Westphal officiating. The family will receive visitors on August 2nd from 6-8 PM at Restland Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Music Ministry at Christ Lutheran Church or the Visiting Nurses Association, one of her favorite charities.
